Introducing Blix’s Coding Platform An Easy Way to Code, Build & Create

At Blix, we believe learning begins with curiosity, and our vision has always been to give kids a hands-on learning experience that helps them explore this curiosity at a young age and understand the science and technology shaping the world around them. This very vision is present in every Blix product that we design and manufacture.

When we talk about learning experiences, most of the time, it is our STEM toys and robotics kits, but there are other things we build around them, like our LMS platform through which we provide experiential learning and training for teachers to make STEM education truly effective.

In this blog, we are going to talk about another one of our services, which is built around our Boffin Kit Lineup.

Blix’s Custom Coding Platform

A couple of years ago, we launched our first coding-based product line called the Boffin Kit. But we were providing an external platform to code, which worked for a while but did not align with the experience we wanted to provide to our customers; we felt we were only meeting them halfway. So, we decided to build our own online coding platform for kids from the ground up.

But this is not something that can be cooked up in a span of days. This was a coding platform for kids, so it had to be simple, smooth, and easy enough for a kid who had never been introduced to coding.

Building an online platform is not something we are pros at, so we had to use every resource and help we could get our hands on. For months, we did extensive R&D and consulted experts to make sure we were moving in the right direction every step of the way.

Finally, after 8 months of tirelessly working on this project, Blix’s online coding platform came to life. Now, the Boffin Coding IDE has been upgraded with our custom inbuilt coding platform, making the overall coding experience smoother for young learners. Whether kids are starting to learn coding or advancing into learning AI/ML, all projects can be worked on one single platform.

Things Kids Can Build With This Platform

Using this platform and the Boffin Starter kit, kids can build models like a gesture-controlled door, where the motor and sensor are connected to the Boffin board and coded on the Blix custom platform to respond to movement detected near the sensor. For something more advanced, with the Boffin AI/Ml kit, kids can work on projects like a face-controlled toll booth using the same platform. This project is a good example of how machine learning works in developing AI models.

But the best part about these kits and our coding platform is that learners do not require any prior coding experience to start their coding journey.

Currently, the coding platform is compatible with the entire Boffin Lineup, but as we introduce more coding products in the future, the platform is designed to support them too. Since it’s a custom-built platform, we have the flexibility to update and improve it over time, keeping it relevant for years to come.
