Inside the Beta Testing of the Upcoming Boffin Starter & AI/ML Kits

There is not a single product in the Blix lineup that has not gone through multiple intense tests to make sure the final product that reaches our customers is better than perfect. But the one thing we cannot do is experience the product like a customer, which has left a gap in our testing procedures.

We, as designers and manufacturers, think the product is perfect after all the tests, but the users' perspective of what a perfect product is might be different, and that difference in perspective is exactly why beta testing exists.

So before launching the new Boffin Starter Kit and Boffin AI/ML Kit, we decided to hand them over to the people who matter the most, our users.

What Actually Happens During Beta Testing?

Beta testing is not about just getting a confirmation from the users whether they like the product or not; it is about observing them throughout the process. Watching someone use a product from start to finish tells you where they hesitate, what confuses them, and what excites them.

Because let's be honest, our end users are children. They won't go home and write detailed feedback for us.

How Did The Boffin Beta Testing Session Come Together?

So we reached out to our Blix developer community via WhatsApp and invited enthusiastic young builders to experience the boffin kits before their official launch. To make sure all the kids got enough time to experience both kits, we divided this beta testing into two sessions: one for Boffin Starter on 30th May and the second for Boffin AI/ML on 31st May 2026. During the sessions, all the children came to the blix office and sat alongside our design and development team to test out the Boffin kits.

What Happens Next?

The feedback and ideas received during these test sessions are now in the hands of our design and development team, shaping the final versions of the upcoming Boffin Starter Kit and Boffin AI/ML Kit.

For the first time, not one but two products have been experienced thoroughly by their end users before their launch. We're excited to share the final versions with everyone very soon, and we can't wait to see what the next generation of innovators builds with them.
